Who Has the Most Views on Instagram Live in 2024?

Regarding social media apps where you can live stream, one that often gets overlooked is Instagram.

While it's no Twitch or YouTube, Instagram can still be a valuable tool for people who want to share what they're doing now. What better what to illustrate this than looking at some of the most viewed live videos of all time? Let’s look at the top five Instagram live viewers.

Acun Ilicali

Acun Ilicali

Acun Ilicali is a name you may not have heard of, but he currently holds the live record of most views at 3 million during his May 25, 2020 stream, where he was live streaming one of his shows, Survivor 2020. You’ve probably heard of Survivor, a long-running reality game show where contestants survive on a remote island.

We're not sure why it has so many views. It could be because, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, some people felt like survivors in their own ways. A time when everyone was using entertainment to escape from the world’s horrors. Either way, this is still the top-viewed live stream nearly three years later.

Tekashi 6ix9ine

The second most-viewed live stream came only a few weeks before Ilicali’s. On May 8, 2020, the controversial rapper did a live stream after being released from prison due to a COVID-19 plea, with 2 million watching. Convicted in 2018 for racketeering and drug trafficking, he was released early on home arrest because he feared what would happen should he contract the virus from staying inside the prison.

Once again, the pandemic had something to do with people's fascination for this stream and is the reason for the large number of live views it ended up getting. That, and his fans were eager to hear what the rapper had to say after being in prison for two years.

Nicki Minaj & Drake

Next, we have two legendary musicians who need no introduction. Their May 13, 2021, the Instagram stream was a chat about Beam Me Up, Scotty, a 2009 mixtape by Minaj that had Drake as a guest star. While it’s the third most viewed live stream, it was a little under 1 million views. With two music legends talking, this stream got many views.

6ix9ine & Nicki Minaj

The fourth most viewed Instagram live stream came from two familiar faces. On May 2020, the two rappers did a nearly hourlong live stream to promote their new collaborative song, “Trollz.” The view count stands at 925k. Once again, the two were music legends and both controversial rappers in their own ways, so this stream got many views.

Jungkook and V

Jungkook and V

While the top streams are from a few years ago, this stream was from only a month ago as of this writing. On February 2, 2023, Jungkook and V, members of the South Korean boy band BTS, had their first-ever Instagram live stream.

The fanbase of South Korean pop, or K-pop, is quite passionate about their music, with BTS being one of the biggest bands in this genre. It makes sense that this is one of Instagram's most viewed live streams at 922k views.

What Can I Learn From This?

The top five most viewed videos, and even those underneath them, all come from celebrities and famous musicians. Even famous Instagram people seem to need help to surpass celebrities from the old guard when it comes to Instagram. We will guess that you're neither a celebrity nor Insta famous. However, you can still learn something from them.

All of these used live streams to promote their works or to connect with their audience. If you're on Instagram, that's what live streams work best as. If you have loyal followers, going live occasionally to connect with them and give them updates about your latest projects can be an excellent tool.

With that said, Instagram Live can also be a great tool to attract new people. If people see a video getting a lot of views, they are likely to check it out. That's why many people buy Instagram Live viewers. Even famous people may do this.

So get out there and create a fun live stream experience for everyone.
