those are those little icons that you can add to the URL bar in your browser. They are not bookmarks or favorites, but they’re short pieces of code with limited or no user interface enabling you to use them as shortcuts.
I focus mainly on Google Chrome (some extensions don’t run on all browsers), but I’ll mention Safari, Mozilla, and others as well. Note that those plugins are free and you can download them from the Chrome Web Store.
You can keep on working whilst checking the stats simultaneously. One disadvantage – the window disappears when you click away and in order to come back to the stats, you need to click on the extension again.
If you want to shorten a specific website address, just make sure you’re your website window is open and then click the bitly icon and violla! The characteristic bitly window appears with the new bit.ly link as well as the option to customize it.

For the multilinguals this is a true gift. I always used to waste time on typing “translate.google.com” to find a translation quickly or just double-check if I wrote everything down correctly. The problem is, I used Google Translate this way up to 10 times in an hour!
This plugin literally saves me time – just type in any word or copy and paste the sentence or a paragraph and you’ll get the translation immediately (you might need to change the language configurations). This extension also translates pages!
let’s you search for information as well as get an overview of your current boards. The disadvantage of it is that once you click on any board, you land on Trello website. It’s not a very big time saver but saves you a click or two!
This is an extension from Pinterest to help you pin things immediately to your Pinterest boards. In other words, this is a bookmark button for Pinterest – right after you’ve seen anything interesting or inspiring, you can pin it to your favourite boards.
One note about extensions – having too many installed in your browser significantly reduces the speed of your computer. Make sure you keep extensions that make your work more productive instead of slowing it down.
